The Encyclopedia Britannica says, Einstein's early education that he "showed little scholastic ability." It also says that at the age of 15, "with poor grades in history, geography, and languages, he left school with no diploma." Einstein himself wrote in a school paper of his "lack of imagination and practical ability." In 1895, Einstein failed a simple entrance exam to an engineering school in Zurich. This exam consisted mainly of mathematical problems, and Einstein showed himself to be mathematically inept in this exam. He then entered a lesser school hoping to use it as a stepping stone to the engineering school he could not get into, but after graduating in 1900, he still could not get a position at the engineering school! Then, what made him one of the greatest scientist? It is his p.......... for his curiosity on p............

I hear I forget, I see I remember, I do I understand.

Explore Physics if you want to know;

what everything is and why it exists,

why things are the way they are,

how they work,

understand the universe which we live,

Physics is the study of everything around us.

My Expectation from you;
You have 3 minutes to discuss with your partner what you think Ms. LEE expects of you.
1. Prepare yourself for a lesson!!! Be initiative: This includes;
    • Arrive on time in class.
    • Share your ideas/opinions for your study with Ms. Lee: Do let her know what you have understood or have not understood.
    • For every science lesson, make sure to bring your texts, ruler, calculator and something to take notes.
    • Tie your hair when doing a practical in a lab.

2. Listen to your teacher and your classmates. This means;
    • Show your respect to a presenter and follow instructions. No iPod or phones in class
    • Do not interrupt when somebody else is talking. (You can discretely give your teacher a signal with your hand for toilet)

3. Handle the science equipment with care.

4. Complete all homework set and check the answers provided in a classroom. Revise them for examinations.

5. Every unit, we will produce a cover page containing three most important concepts covered in each topic. As well as the concepts, they need to include suitable images and brief descriptions of why your chosen concepts were the most important.

6. Organise your SCIENCE notebook and folder. Organise your notes whenever available.
How writing by hand benefits the brain?

Remember that it is your responsibility to prepare YOURSELF !!!

Your expectation towards me; You have 5 minutes to discuss with your partner what you expect from me.
What do you want me to do in lessons to help your learning?
  • This is your chance to tailor Ms. Lee's lesson the way you want in studying Physics, if you can.

My goal this year: Allocate as much time as I can with you to help your learning.

If you haven’t time to help youngsters find the right way in life, somebody with more time will help them find the wrong way. - Frank Clark

Rethinking Homework – Top Tips to Get Your Students Doing More! by Dan Shepherd on LinkedIn

Is sciencelanguagegallery helpful for your Physics study?
1. Can you descirbe what good features were helpful in your study and it would be good to keep for the next year?
2. Can you describe what other materials you would like to see more from the website or any improvement points you can suggest.

Physics comes from the Greek word for ‘nature’ and when we study Physics we are looking at how nature allows us to understand the behaviour of the Universe.
This morning, as usual, I ate my toast and marmelade, washed down with a cup of tea, to the sound of the radio:
0.000000000000000000001% of light energy from an insignificant star 150,000,000 km away, woke me from a slumber. The same energy that made trees grow, that became the coal that powered the power station, that delivered invisible energy to make my toast and boiled the water for my cup of tea. The same invisible energy that powered my artificial i-brain of 1,600,000,000,000 miniature switches, so that I could find out what new had been discovered in the world.
Physics of the unimaginably large to invisibly small….and beyond, to some dimension that is not up, down, left or right. Some higher dimension that might only ever be apparent when a fraction of it leaks into our own world, a bit like seeing only the shadow cast on the wall by the cat walking below my window.
A friend once told me that he never believed anything that he could not understand. I do not understand gravity, but I have collected enough evidence to look up before I walk under ladder.
Perhaps one day someone will discover what gravity really is. Or perhaps that will just create more questions.
Good luck in your own path of discovery.
